Have to go into setup to set the time periodically.
The settings for the date and time on my older computer with XP stops working periodically and then I have to go into setup to enter the date and time before I can get the machine to boot up. After I enter the time and date it will boot up. Seems to me there was a update for time and date settings when DST changed the dates.

Hi, - How long have you had this issue? Firstly, I’d suggest you to check if the complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) battery requires replacement and replace the same as such. Additionally, refer the following articles: How to configure an authoritative time server in Windows XPhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/314054 How to synchronize the time with the Windows Time service in Windows XPhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/307897 Warning Be careful when changing BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it's possible to change a setting that could prevent your computer from starting correctly.
