I've managed to network Vista laptop--> Xp PC, but connot get internet sharing correct. Xp machine has usb ADSL modem and i have made it shared! I've tried static IP address as well as automatic. please help.

Do you mean the Windows Vista machine can get the 192.168.0.x IP address automatically and the DNS name resolution works fine, but it still cannot access any website? This means that there is no connection on the Windows Vista machine. Please understand the Windows Vista machine must be able to connect to the Windows XP machine and get an IP address from the Windows XP machine automatically in order to access the Internet. If you would like to use wireless connection, you need to create a Ad Hoc wireless network on the Windows XP machine so that the Windows Vista machine can connect to it.
