Has anyone heard of PCTECHRESOLVE ?
I was contacted and told my Windows application had a problem. The person asked me type in EVENTVWR in the run box and then said the list with yellow and red marks against it were a virus. He then told me to log ontowww.pctechresolve.com and input a 6 digit code. At this point I become suspicious and asked if they were part of Microsoft and they said no, so I hung up.Has anyone else been contacted by them ? Does this mean I have a virus ? I have Norton on my computer and a full system scan didnt show anything ?Thank youPaul1 person needs an answerI do too

This is a scam. The Event Viewer always logs some errors that in most cases are perfectly normal. Some less-than-ethical people are trying to use this as leverage to make a buck at your expense.See the article at the top of this forum labeled:"I received a phone call from someone saying that my computer was infected with a virus" < http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/xpsecurity/thread/968f23dc-b7c1-4c8e-95a2-f89dde500ab8 >HTH, JW
