Hard drive issues
Ok I set up in a dual boot mode 1st drive being win xp drive 2 win7. The load went very smooth. All seemed ok untilI started looking for my first drive. Win7 didn't show it in "computer" the only hard drive shown was the one it was installed on. If I shut down and reboot to xp "my computer" shows both drives fine. Both drives shown as shared. Back to Win7 only one drive. Device manager shows both drives there from a hardware standpoint. Why can'tI see my other drive?

Do a search on this issue as it has been reported many, many times. In a nutshell, while booted into Win 7, go into disk management and assign a drive letter to the partition where XP resides.

HiWin 7 does not assign letter for drive where its boot loader is installed, this is why you cannot see xp drive in explorer.Your xp drive is first boot hdd so win7 is installed its boot manager on it instead on drive where it is installedYou can assign drive letter manually by using drive manager from admin toolsDrive letter you assign manuallycannot be removed later

Thanks Darien that did it for sure. Seems odd to me it wasn't assigned to begin with.
