Hard disk being filled up with nothing
Hi,my c drive hard disc is less than than 50% full, however, the remainder is being filled up with nothing/ rubbish which disappears when its full. This cycle is constantly happening and it is slowing down my pc.i've checked to see if it's a virus and my pc is clean.how do i fix this issue to stop my hard disk from constantly being written too and filling it up with nothing?Simon1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi,my disk is is being filled up with various types of data files which arrive from no-where and disappear when the disk is full and or my pc is rebooted. The process contuniually going through this cycle of having something and then nothing on it.i've had a chat with symantec and they say that its a win xp issue, not a virus!also, this process has started to consume more CPU resuorces today! regardssimon

What are these "various types of data files?" Please give examples, including file name and the full path to the file location. Are you talking about files in a TEMP directory?You also have still not specified what applications you are using to determine the malware status of your machine. I gather that you have some Symantec or Norton application, but non-viral malware may well not be detected by Norton antivirus applications.What process has started to consume CPU resources? If you look at Task Manager, what are the name(s) of the process(es) that are consuming CPU resources?What, specifically, did Symantec have to say?
