Hand Pointer shows up in Windows Explorer 9 problem and Hotmail Draft
I have Windows 7 and Windows Explorer 9. I don't want the hand pointer showing up when I'm in windows explorer 9. The hand pointer behaves the same as a hand in a PDF document. I can't highlight anything or scroll right. I want to use the arrow pointer instead in my browser window. The hand shows up when I go edit my draft in hotmail - won't let me edit my words because the pointer is a hand instead of an arrow. I have expensive software and I can't highlight anything in it too. There is a arrow pointer, however, but I can't select a certain part of a cylinder in my 3D software. I don't know if it is related or not. Please, I want my arrow pointer back in Windows Explorer 9. JUST EDITED THIS POST AND TITLE AT 11:25 AM

you can go to the mouse in start -> devices and printers and reset it there My MVP is for the Windows Desktop Experience, i.e. Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 IT Remote Assistance is available for a fee. I tried it and couldn't find the reset button. I failed to mention that the hand shows up even when I use my touch pad on my tablet pc so it isn't really a mouse problem. The hand shows up (even with the touch pad or stylus) in Windows Explorer 9 and my email and drafts it shows up. I think it is a windows problem and I couldn't even find the solution anywhere.

I didn't find the "restore default" button anywhere in that window. Also it happens when I don't use the mouse because the hand shows up anyway in Explorer and Hotmail "draft".

Insert your Windows disk and boot from it and select repair when it prompts for it Its obvious you have problems, also make sure you have backed up everything just in case the repair fails My MVP is for the Windows Desktop Experience, i.e. Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 IT Remote Assistance is available for a fee. Does your pad/stylus come with a mouse? If not you can use a mouse and it will not clash with the stylus. The right had showing all the time means something has changed the cursor do you have security software installed? The computer didn't come with a mouse so I guess it didn't clash with the stylus. When I used the Google browser there is no problem, but when I used Windows 9 the problem still exists. Could it be Windows Explorer 9? I have Norton Internet Security.

You mean IE9 I assume I detest Norton, how long does your subscription last? Hi, Addition to Vegan, I suggest resetting IE and running it with no add-ons. Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Internet Explorer (with no add-ons) If the issue persists, please help me collect the screenshot. How to capture a screenshot ------------------------------------------ 1. When the hand pointer shows up, press the Print Screen key (PrtScn) on your keyboard. 2. Click the "Start" menu, type "mspaint" in the Search Bar and Press Enter. 3. In the Paint program, click the "Edit" menu, click "Paste", click the "File" menu, and click "Save". 4. Save the picture onto your desktop and Upload to SkyDrive. Best Regards, NikiPlease remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Go to the command bar in IE Explorer 9. The hand can be turned on or off using the hand symbol. The answer was found in IE Explorer help. HCose
