Hi everyone,I formated my hard drive two months ago to run the Windows 7 RC. Ipreviously had Windows XP on my laptop. I don't have the CD with mebut I still have my XP Home Edition product key sticked to it.Question: Will I be able to install the Windows 7 Home Premium Upgradeif I buy it now ? Or will I have to buy the full Windows 7 HomeEdition ?Thanks in advance for your ideas/answers.Best Greetings from beautiful Montreal,- Adrien

I hope I have the terminology correct here...it's very confusing.Because you don't have an installation CD and also because you won't be able to use the Windows 7 RC as a qualifying O/S for the upgrade edition after August 2010, I recommendyou buy a "Full Retail" edition of Windows 7 rather than the "Upgrade Edition"when you're ready to make the switch.THe "Full Retail" editionwill cost more, but unlike the "Upgrade Edition" it will notrequire you to haveXP or Vista installed and activited on the machine when you run the upgradeand it will still cost lessthan buying a "full retail" licensed copy of XP now andan upgradeedition of Windows 7later.In the meantime, contact your systemvendorand see if they will send you a copy of the installation media thatwill match the version and SP level that corresponds to the product key on the machine. Younever know...
