HOME GROUP LISTENING ERROR CODE 1079
I HAVE 5 COMPUTERS ALL RUNNING WINDOWS 7--ONE OF THEM I CAN JOIN HOMEGROUP THE OTHERS ARE ASKED TO JOIN BUT ARE TOLD WINDOWS WILL NOT ALLOW THEM TO JOIN. RUNNING TROUBLESHOOTER NO PROBLEM WITH HOME GROUP BUT WITH NETWORKING BUT CANNOT SOLVE PROBLEM. OPEN SERVICES HOMEGROUP LISTENER IS NOT WORKING TRY TO START RECEIVE ERROR CODE 1079. TRIED THE FOLLOWING NET STOP AND NET START IN CMD USING AS ADMIN--P2PIMSVC AND REMOVED SOFTWARE RAN-SFC/SCANNOW NO PROBLEMS TURNED OFF WINDOWS FIREWALL PLEASE ADVISE HOW TO CORRECT RUNNING OUT OF IDEAS CHECKING ON BING SEARCH ALOT OF FREE SOFTWARE PROMISING TO CORRECT EVERYTHING

Hi, You should enable the TCP/IPv6, meanwhile you may set the connection as Home network. If it is possible you can temporarily disable firewall.Ivan-Liu TechNet Community Support

thank you for your reply when you state enable the TCP/IPv6 do yo mean on my router? I have all my computers set as home and have disabled my firewall and antivirus with no luck.

It's none bussiness with router, even if there is only one switcher, computers can join in the Home Group.Ivan-Liu TechNet Community Support

thank you I gave up--i tried various experts who could not solve this issue and paid a few dollars. But, could you tell me how I can remove if possible the Home grouping function from my computers if possible spent to much wasted time and effort reading and reading and money trying to solve an unsolveable issue.
