HKEY_USERS
Hello I have been having a problem for ages and posted this on Microsoft Answers and on Technet in another section and now again I have been transferred here....Well here is the problem I am having OK if I open regedit as a administrator then navigate to HKEY_USERS I only see two main folders which are the policies and settings for my account HERE http://i573.photobucket.com/albums/ss180/Asim_09/Computers/regedit.jpg Now for the other two accounts I don't see their folders there, where are they? The other folders that you see there belong to diffrent accounts built in the computer, how do I get it to show the other two account folders? I want to set some policies. OK now note the 1008 is related to my account, but what about other accounts I want to be able to see their folders. Thanks Asim

Go to Sysinternals and download PSEXEC from the PSTOOLS collection. Use PSEXEC to launch CMD under the context of the SYSTEM account. psexec -i -s cmd.exe From here key in regedit in the command prompt and you will have access to everything in regedit.

Hi Asim, Thank you for your post! Those S-1-5-18, S-1-5-19, S-1-5-20 are not security identifiers (SIDs) of real users; they are SIDs of service accounts. A real user profile SID begins with S-1-5-21-... The HKEY_USERS key contains no more (and no less) than the actively loaded user profiles on the computer. From your picture, it indicates that only one account is logged in. If you would like to see other accounts, please perform the following steps: Click start, move your mouse to the triagle before Shutdown, then switch User. Logon another account and check the HKEY_USERS. You will have two more registry added. Regards,Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
