HKCU...policies Permissions
I have found that HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Policies has no write permissions for regular user accounts. I also see there is a "RESTRICTED" group attached to this key. Our companies scripting engine writes keys to this location. For now I would to workaround this and allow write permissions on this key. Does anybody know of a solution for doing this or can at least point me to documentation regarding this change?I have attempted to remove restricted group but that did not make any changes to permission. I tried to add an individual user to the permissions and grant write, but the write permission never sticks.

Hi,I'd like to suggest you log on the computer with administrator account, run regedit, then right click on"HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Policies" and select Permissions. click Advanced and then the Owner tab. select "Replace owner on subcontianers and objects" choose the administrator account, then click "OK".--------------------Regards,Eric ZhangMicrosoft Online Community Support
