I need to transfer pictures from my daughter's user account on our home PC to my user account on the same PC. How do I do this?

There are a couple of methods you can use. Firstly, there is the simple copy and paste method. If you are logged into your own account, browse to your daughter's user account and then to the folder where the pictures are stored. You might need to grant yourself permission to access her account (if you are an Administrator, this is straightforward). Once you have opened the folder where the pictures are located, simply select and copy the one(s) you want and then paste it/them into your account at the appropriate location. An alternative method, and one that doesn't involve changing access privileges, is to use a USB flash memory stick. Log in to your daughter's account (or have her log in for you), and then open the folder where the pictures are stored. Select the one(s) you want and save them to the USB stick. Now, log off from her account (or simply Switch User) and log into your account. Now download the picture(s) from the USB stick to the destination location.

In Windows 7 Explorer there is this feature called Libraries. With these, you can browse through files from totally different folders as if they were in one folder. Simply add your daughter's picture folder to your pictures library and you can browse through them as though they were yours. Right click on the library, chose properties. You can then add folders to the list. After adding your daughter's folder, click OK and you're good to go.
