HELP, I think I been hacked
I need help, and fast really I have done the usual things, ran antivirus, malwarebytes I got a phone call from someone who said they were from Microsoft They gave me all my details, PC number, operating system, even the disc number of my operating system, they had my name, DOB, email address, my home address, my phone number (I dont give out my land line number, but when I got my OS, I had to give that to MS) only thing that was missing was my inside leg measurement, they seemed to know everything about my PC and me (even knew what page I was on) They were very convincing, and as I have been having problems with my PC and sent them error reports, I thought they were the real deal (I have never contacted MS before, so didnt have the number to call em back Anyway, they got control of my PC, then started deleteing stuff, I pulled the plug when I saw stuff going, but then they called me back and started taking the p*** about how my PC wouldnt work any more (I'm glad to say it does) They sounded like the usual Indians in India that MS employ But how do I find out if they can still access my PC ? How do I find out if they have put a 'back door' into it ? I am running various malware and anti virus software (so far nothing has been found) I cant find anything that isnt working any more, it seems fine There are no new accounts on my PC (that I can find) I havent been on any banking, money related websites, just in case there is something on my PC I dont klnow what the files were before they were deleted or if they affect my PC, how can I found out ? Help PLEASE, any advice would really be appreciated

Without someone being at your site analyzing what the exact issue is, it would be difficult to pin-point what might be causing this. Either contact Microsoft Support (http://support.microsoft.com/common/international.aspx?RDPATH=dm;en-us;select&target=assistance) or do a clean install of the Operating System, install Microsoft Security Essentials (anti-malware), do a full scan and install only those programs (scan them before installation in case you are installing them from an external device) that are essential. Something like that is worth a full reinstallation but if you dont want to go down that route then follow: Download Combofix from http://www.combofix.org/ Run it and post log here. Download and run TFL (temp file cleaner) from http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/files/file/187-tfc-temp-file-cleaner-by-oldtimer/ Download and run Malwarebytes from http://www.malwarebytes.org/ Free edition should do, and update if you can. If it cant get online then if you are running windows XP then use dial a fix from http://wiki.lunarsoft.net/wiki/Dial-a-fix And do a scan with Super Anti Spyware from http://www.superantispyware.com/ and Do a final scan with the antivirus of your choice, if you dont have one then drop me an email to support[ at ]youarebroken[ dot ]com and I will send you a trial. Also if you drop me another an email I could help you further if that does not work. Cheers Tommy You Are Broken @YABComputers (Twitter)

The best thing you can do is reformat and reinstall teh system - it may be terminally compromised. If you keep banking details or other important information or passwords on your PC, then you should notify the institutions concerned immediately, and arrange for Identity-theft measures to be instituted, so that if they did manage to get any data off, you are still protected. You sounds like you were PC jacked, they had already gotten onto your system and ran a few basic sysinfo searches to get your product information and from your docs the basics about you to call you and impersonate MS. What they are really after is for you to spill your social security and bank and or credit info so they can bleed you dry. You need to format your PC and do a fresh install, and get an external had drive to backup and keep information senesitve docs off your active running machine, backup your tax info, banking etc. I woul suggest before pluggin the new formated PC to the internets, that you install antivirus and malware protection first. You are right in thinking paranoid about things when it comes to security.:P Advice offered, If you need more help it is advised to seek the council and advice of paid professionals. Hi, Please understand that the forum support is different from the phone support, we haven’t many information for the phone support. Based on my knowledge, every case for Microsoft Phone Support has an unique case ID. If the caller hasn’t provide a case ID, it may be a cheating. Please contact Microsoft, then you could get some help from Microsoft. To obtain the phone numbers for specific technology request please take a look at the web site listed below: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;PHONENUMBERS You may try Server Baba’s advice, use MSE to scan your computer in safe mode. If you want to know if someone is accessing your PC, run CMD as administrator, then type “netstat” in the prompt windows. Check for any Foreign Address. Or you could post result here and I would assist you to check it. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
