HDD spins up exactly once per hour (caused by Bitlocker?)

Hello,

the 8TB HDD in my HTPC running Windows 8.1 Pro is spinning up exactly once per hour.

I couldn't find any scheduled task which could be held responsible for this.

According to this it could be caused by Bitlocker (which is enabled for both partitions on this disk).

Is there any information why this is happening?

Attached is a screenshot of Procmon showing what I think is causing the spinup.

Regards,

Hi,

According to your description, to identify if it is caused by BitLocker, you can try to remove BitLocker from one drive for test.

The screenshot indicates that these two drive were keeps reading and writing file by Svchost process which system service host process. You can try to find which service of this svchost was running, it should be the culprit of this problem.
