HDD shows up as SSD (Optimize instead of Defrag)

My HDD RAID0 Array shows up in device manager as HDD as expected.
However when I go to Defrag the drive it is listed as an SSD,
and only gives the option to Optimize (TRIM) which does not work.

Windows 8.1
EVGA X99 FTW
Intel i7 5930K
Samsung 850 PRO 256GB
4 x Western Digital Blacks 500GB ea. in RAID0 (In Question)

I have tried both GPT, and MBR
Currently using GPT

According to this thread it is the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks..

Yes you are correct.

I also found a link about the issue https://communities.intel.com/thread/55594

I am currently using Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver v 12.9.0.1001.

Anything later then this will cause the issue.

** EDIT: Although I am not 100% comfortable using an outdated driver on a new platfom.

The driver does however seem to be working fine.

I appreciate your reply.
