HDD shows up as SSD (Optimize instead of Defrag)

My HDD RAID0 Array shows up in device manager as HDD as expected.
However when I go to Defrag the drive it is listed as an SSD,
and only gives the option to Optimize (TRIM) which does not work.

Windows 8.1
EVGA X99 FTW
Intel i7 5930K
Samsung 850 PRO 256GB
4 x Western Digital Blacks 500GB ea. in RAID0 (In Question)

I have tried both GPT, and MBR
Currently using GPT

According to this thread it is the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks..

Hi o0Mr_Scary0o,

Considering you are working with the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver, here is a similar symptom for reference .
Defrag Detects RAID-0 HDD as SSD

As the OP have confirmed that this issue may be caused by the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver. According to the link you have posted ,have you tried to update the present driver or rollback the present version to an older one for example the  ver 12.8.0.1016  as the link informed ?
If that is proved to be the Intel driver issue ,it is recommended to look for help from the Intel forum .

As a work around ,we can try to use the command line the defrag the HDD drive.
Here is a link for reference of the defrag command  :
