If that is what you see, your system is infected with malicious software.Whatever antivirus and/or antimalware software you might be using has failed to protect your system, so you may want to consider expanding your system protection and "anti" software horizons a bit to include products that do a better job of protecting your system so things like this never happen in the first place. What kind of antivirus/antimalware protection are you using now? Whatever it is, it has failed. You should get rid of the infection(s) you have now and then troubleshoot any remaining issues when these scans run clean.I would start here:Perform some scans for malicious software, then fix any remaining issues:Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:Malwarebytes (MBAM): http://malwarebytes.org/SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/They can be uninstalled later if desired. When the scans run clean, then troubleshoot any remaining issues. Do, or do not. There is no try.I need YOUR votes and points for helpful replies and Propose as Answers. I am saving up for a pony!

Yes, it's snake oil. Please see New scam tactic: Fake disk defraggers at CNET News .Boulder Computer MavenMicrosoft Most Valuable ProfessionalHello SteveThank you for confirming this. Sorry for not posting earlier. I have got rid of the snakeoil. When given the chance I managed to update MSE, MBAM, SAS, MSRT[Dec version] - ran scans - things found was a bit of adware[SAS] that did not appear to be connected with sentinal[but then a good search re this adware was limited due to being blocked getting onto the net] & - found by MSE.Trojan:Win32/FakeSysdef MSE dealt with this but it was back again after boot. After three hours of continued tries, I did get all scans done. I did find that after repeated reboots, the shortcut would appear on the desktop, but removing this seemed to give me time to surf etc. The only place this prog appeared was in C:Docs & Sets/ name/applic - would not delete. It was not in add/remove or prog files.I tried to dll revo but could not dll it. I could not get event viewer to open so I could look for errors.Nor did it appear to show as running in task manager.I decided to finish off trying, with a view of contacting bleeping comps or similar, as there was the possibility of going into the reg - dont like doing it without somebody holding my hand.So I did my normal end of day 'housework' with manual cleaning i.e. TIFS, cookies, history etc. Then I went to clear the two main temp folders - temp and %temp% - in one, cant remember which, I found this item - PaPLUbfluY.dll[never seen before] - this link made interesting reading[in partic the date] and I searched no further. It deleted without any probs.I rebooted and could find no trace of sentinal.Just to make sure, I decided to stay up a bit later and ran an online scan with Symantec. Nothing found.Went to bed a happy man - but today was very expectant when I switched on but very relieved when nothing happened.I have since gone into event viewer[system] and there were several entries where MSE detected the problemI hope some of the above makes sense. I have read of these 'freak' type fixes but it has never happened to me.RgdsDamascus
