HARD DISK NOT BEING READ, and get CLICK sounds...please help me
I have a segate HDD 320 GB, SN- 2GE6E9LR, PN9KW2AG-502 portable under warranty purchsed 3 months back from chennai with bill. my HDD is not working now. Till 3 days back it was working properly. I left it connected to the computer and slept. two days back morning I found that the disk was not opening and was asking for format - yes/ no. I did not format as the data was important for me. I tried connecting that with other systems and found that I the problem continued in same way. Later on connecting th disk to my computer again, I found that the hard disk suddenly opened but said semaphore error. I was not able to recover the data or copy or paste data. and it said SEMAPHORE ERROR, not able to access data. Now when I connect the disk, I hear some mouse click sound for twenty times approx. and then the computer reads it as first it says : NEW USB DEVICE found then as usual is says : found new freeagent segate drive. Then it is not being shown in my computer, but in USB it is active and has recognised it. and I also found it showing in disk drive under device manager by right clicking computer. but in DISK PARTITION/ MANAGEMENT IT IS NOT BEING SHOWN All data is important for me as it has all my project files and also my tour photos. The data is very important to me. Please help me and what should I do?

when the drive was working, what was the drive letter it appears as? e:?f:?... try this:plug the Disk to the computer, click start>run>type cmd, enter, this opens the command prompt window type chkdsk <driveletter:> /r and press enter eg: chkdsk e: /r this is to attempt to fix bad sectors on the disk.Tunde Abagun MCP,MCSA,MCTS,MCITP en p "for the love of Computers"
