HARD DISK DRIVER ISSUES WHILE INSTALLING WINDOWS 8

I am trying to install windows 8 on my PC, but it is asking for hard drive drivers. I have installed windows 8 before with no issues on the same PC with same configuration, but now I am facing these driver issues. Currently  I am running Win7 as i cannot reinstall Win8.

Config:

Gigabyte Motherboard 945G with Intel Core2duo8400 3ghz,

Intel(R) 82801G(ICH7) FAMILY CHIP SET,

4gb Ram, Nvidia graphic card, Seagate hard disk 160Gb.

This is relatively old hardware that need not support Windows 8. Most probably installation process does not contain drivers for disk control device (or RAID):

Upgrade your hardware or use latest operating system that is supported by Gigabyte.

Hi,

I doubt that the hard drive is either a SATA drive or in a RAID setup, you might need to install RAID controller drivers or SATA driver during the installation.

I also suggest you refer to the following link and check if it can give some hints.

The only thing that I can think of which would suddenly cause the installation to fail to see the hard drives is that the storage controller mode has been changed. There are usually three modes available to a SATA controller: IDE, AHCI, and RAID.

To the best of my knowledge, drives on ICH7R are seen by drivers included in the installation media in all three modes.

Is the hard drive seen in BIOS? If the disk is not seen in BIOS it will not be seen in Windows.

Is there a secondary storage controller on the motherboard? Without the exact model I cannot say, but many motherboard may feature SATA ports from a secondary controller that may need separate drivers.
