Graphic Driver for Compaq Nc6000 Windows 7?
Hello everyone. I've just installed Windows 7 on my HP Compaq nc6000, and i really like the result. Much better than XP if you ask me. Everything is working well except the video. When i watch videos in full screen it looks like its going on low FPS, very laggy... I guess its because of the missing video driver... but i'm not really sure. I got the newest DirectX, and everything is okay, except i cant find a driver for my graphics. Im sorry for my bad english, if anyone know how to solve this problem i would really appreciate it, i tryed download the driver from HP's site, it just says that the driver isnt fitting to Win7.... Thanks alot/ Andr

There are no Windows 7 (or Vista) drivers available for that notebook from HP. According to the specification, the graphics is ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9600 graphics controller with 32 or 64-MB DDR SDRAM 4X AGP I don't see any specific Windows 7 driver for it, but, if you're willing to try things, check out Mobility Modder . Hi Andr, As Ztruker mentioned, according to HP's website, the latest drivers are for Windows XP. It is recommended contact HP directly and confirm if there is any updated graphic driver for Windows 7 available. In the meantime, please perform Windows Update and see if the driver can be downloaded. If the issue persists, you can try installing the Windows XP driver in the Compatibility Mode to see if the issue can be resolved. Regards, Linda

hi andre dont use windows update for driver go to ati and use either a win 7 or a vista driver.your running on base vid that why it laggy.the driver are out there it just ati is horible at surport.you just have to look and pc wont even bother with older products.this is the vista one http://filehippo.com/download_ati_catalyst_vista/it pretty much the same as the win 7 one i dont have a link to the win 7 cat 9.11 just seach there site.dont let windows get the driver for you or it be bsod.most vista drivers work on win 7 and driver surport is out there it just not well listed.hardware makers it seems would rather sell then surport so they make it sort of a egg hunt.

Hello again guys & girls, i really appreciate your help, but none of it seems to help so far. Ive tryed the Compatibility Mode with the old XP driver, didnt work. I also tryed just to download the Vista version of ATI Catalyst, didnt work either. As last option i tryed to use the Mobility Modder , but im not really sure i did it right, i followed the guide but i dont know if i did it right. Do you know what to do with the Mobility Modder Ztruker? And if anyone has another solution please let me know Thanks again, Andr.

Hi Andr, Have you contacted HP to confirm about this issue? If the driver update for Windows 7 is not available, I am afraid that you may have to replace the display card which is compatible with Windows 7 to resolve the issue. Your understanding is appreciated.

I've the same problem wiht my hp compaq nc6000. But i've an extra issue. When i'm on the internet sometimes my mouse freezes, for a second of 10 sometimes longer sometimes shorter. But i've the ati catalyst control center installed. http://downloads.guru3d.com/Videocards----ATI-Catalyst-%28Modified%29_c24.html From here you can get the ati catalyst control center driver. But does anybody know why my mouse is freezing sometimes? It's not because of that driver from guru3d, before that he also did it. Help
