Gpedit.msc missing
I am logged in as an administrator with windows 7. I loathe the automatic restart feature - it has twice caused me to lose hours of data - and want to turn it off.
However, I cannot find the gpedit.msc feature. When I type it in the run menu, I get the error "Windows cannot find gpedit.msc. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."
I also can't find it in the system32 folder.
I can't edit any group user functions through control panel.
How can I a) turn off the win7 auto update; and b) find gpedit.msc?
Thanks.

1. Which version of Windows 7 do you have as gpedit.msc is not present in the ‘Home’ versions?
2. To turn off Windows automatic updating, click the Windows Orb (Start) > All Programs > Windows Update and click Change settings in the left pane. Now choose the option you want.
