Got a Memory configuration error but don't know why...
I have a brand new computer w/ twin ATI 8650's running crossfire, &
Windows
7 and was playing a FPS game, when suddenly all of my monitors just went black and lost their signal. I ended up having
to hard reboot the computer more than once to get anything to come back up on the monitor. When it finally rebooted I got this message:
YOUR SYSTEMS MEMORY CONFIGURATION HAS CHANGED SINCE IT ENTERED HIBERNATION. IF YOU PROCEED THE DATA NEEDED TO RESUME FROM HIBERNATION WILL BE LOST. TO PRESERVE THIS DATA TURN OFF THE SYSTEM POWER, RESTORE THE ORGINAL MEMORY CONFIGURATION, AND THEN REBOOT THE
SYSTEM. OTHERWISE PRESS ENTER TO DELETE RESTORATION
DATA AND PROCEED
TO SYSTEM BOOT MENU.
I just hit enter ‘cause I wasn’t sure what to do. I had 12 GB of memory, and it says I still have 12 GB, but loading times, etc are definately longer now. I did not do anything with my memory at all. Do you know why I would have gotten this message
and how I might diagnose any problems?? Thanks

look into the advanced options under boot. There is an option to limit the RAM. Uncheck it if it is set.

Please run msconfig.exe and check if it is limited to a lower value."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code"

I note specifically that my load times for my FPS sved games has gone from about 5 seconds to about 30 now. Could that be an issue with the video cards? If so, what is the best way to test that both of them are still working. Also, if I'm running crosfire,
and one of the cards bit the dust, would my graphics just stop working, or would the one working card just take over?

what have you done the last days? Have you tried the system restore to an older point where everything worked?"A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code"

Hi,
Since the computer didn't shut down properly, the data such as your game in memory didn't be saved and restored. After reboot, the computer should perform properly.
Now I suggest performing a memory diagnose.

If there is no error in memory, update the latest graphic driver and BIOS from the manufacture's site.
Here is a tool to monitor memory size. Hope it helps.
