Google Remote Desktop - Forefront TMG

Hello!

I am wondering if anyone knows how to configure Forefront TMG to be able to use Google Remote Protocol from outside of our network. If i connect form tablet to PC  both inside same network it works, but if pc is behinf forefornt and tablet is connected to some other network (my home,...) i can not connect to my PC.

Does anyone use Chrome Remote Desktop and knows that?

Hi,

It seems that Chrome remote desktop use a Chromoting protocol to allow a user to control another computer remotely. I am not sure if TMG is configured to allow this protocol by default. Maybe the connection is blocked by TMG, you can check the live logging of TMG to see if any related information.

Best regards,

Susie

Susie Long, thank you for your answer.

I am just wondering if you know anything more about this protocol and the way I could allow it in my network.

Thank you!

Haven't tried it but I assume it works in similar ways like Teamviewer, e.g. you connect to the host you want to connect to via a Google server, e.g. not directly to from the computer that  you connect from to the computer you try to connect to.

To identify what is happening, start by looking in TMG logs and see what is happening there, any denies or failed connection attempts to and from the client you are trying to connect to.

Thank you for your reply. I am trying to resolve this issue, but with no luck so far.

Is it possible that anyone of you professionals could try this thing out? I am also reading something about NAT Transversal and about this url: chromoting-host.talkgadget.google.com., but I haven't got any luck... Network is also configured to block torrents...is this important?

Thank you! I really appreciate your help.

Hi

Sorry for replying so late.

How is everything going on? Have you found any related information in TMG logs? I would appreciate it if you can provide some related logs so that we can better analyze.

Best regards,

Susie

Hello!

Thank you for your interest in this matter.

In fact I have not made any progress at all about allowing Chrome Remote Desktop through Forefront TMG. The problem is that I do not know what incoming connection which is block belons to Chrome desktop.

I would also appreciate any help, because this is still an issue for some people at our place. I would also like to post some logs to you, but could you be a little more specific what you need to help me.

Thank you in advance!
