Going Up
Apparently Microsoft's sales #sare on an upswing. This trend should not be considered surprising @ all. Unlike w/ Vista, offering the new OS to the public pre-release was brilliant maketing. Open the door to public input & feedback, let them 'play' w/ a near-finished-form product, having them feel that they helped build it & a sense of ownership is going to payoff. Ppl became anxious & excited about a good & appealing Operating System before it was even released! Also, one cannot ignore to boost from promo pricing offers, again pre-release. and (WOW, what an idea!) Family Packs. Plus, it's very cool & better in oh so many ways & levels for so many people & applications & enviornments but, the punch line is it worked, end of story. ____ I was an Invited Beta Tester & we were hard pressed to find things wrong... far different than when MS 1st handed us Vista. No, it should not be found as surprising... pricing is better than the last OS, flavour structure is sensible, runs nicely on lesser equipment than ppl are accustom,( older, less robust & even Netbooks), 3rd Party software & hardware play nicely w/ Windows 7. Largely what is driving this success story is the rave reviews & the terrific reception it is getting... people like it, business like it. No surprise & ergo sales reflect all of this. Add into the mix Exchange Server 2010 & Office 2010, both damn fine items now on the IT landscape, and there are 3 very good reasons for Microsoft sales to be on an upward curve. It should not be considered surprising @ all. Cheers,Drew "A scan a day keeps the nasties away!"Drew - MS Partner / MS Beta Tester / Pres. Computer Issues
