GlobeTrotter Icon322 Aircard issues
I have an GlobeTrotter Icon322 Aircard that I use all the time on my laptop and it works great in Windows Vista. When I connect it to the USB port in my home PC it see's the device and allows the installation of the software but is never able to connect. Background on this is that I have just today installed the latest RC of Windows 7 and am trying to set up some sort of internet connection so that I can activate it. After the software installs and I reboot, I am able to see on the device that it has made a connection. I am able to start the software with no issues. The software see's that there is an internet connection available and gives me the option to connect as it should. When I click on the connect button it says that it is trying to connect but after a few minutes times out.I have double checked the device on my laptop, (which I am using as I am writing this), I have double checked the protocols, adapters etc to make sure that they all look like they are configured correctly. I have disabled the firewall in Win7, and do not have any virus software installed as of yet. The computer is connected to a home network, and I admit that I have not tried to disconnect from that network first, though that will probably be my first step when I get back home.I have connected my laptop to my network, and setup ICS, but the Win7 system is unable to log on to the laptop to be able to use it. For some reason it isn't accepting my username/password when I try to connect. I am able to see the router, the laptop and what I presume is the aircard when I view the map of the network, but am unable to connect to it regardless. If I can't fix it, it wasn't broke!

Hate to be one who bumps their threads, but I would like some suggestions on this as I am not sure what will happen if I can't activate Win7.If I can't fix it, it wasn't broke!

Can you plug in with ethernet then use Windows update to get a newer driver?

I don't think accessing the internet with ethernet will help. There doesn't appear to be an updated Windows 7 driver for the Globetrotter on Microsoft update. Or maybe it's just mine....for the original poster, he must have solved his problem in another way.

I am a truck driver, so sorry for the delay in my response, I have been away for a bit. As for the issue, I have come to the conclusion that it must be a really bad area for connecting to the internet where my computer is. My laptop has started having issues in the same room and it might be due to all the radio interference eminating from my pc when it is running. I was able to connect a USB extension cable to the computer and get it to work long enough to connect and validate my installation. As for the network sharing issue, that was a little involved but I did resolve that one as well. I ended up going into the logs to see what was happening and noticed that windows was not allowing connections from my PC to my laptop so I had to setup exception rules to allow my ip address to connect and access items on my laptop. I appreciate the responses that I did get, though I had hoped that I could get it to work. I am going to end up subscribing to dsl for that computer at some point so at least I have internet access and will be able to do things when I am home.If I can't fix it, it wasn't broke!
