Getting the computer ready for upgrade to window 7.
Earlier this year, I was upgrading the computer for windows 7. But due to finances. I had to let my internet provider go. Now I can go back on line with a different carrier and bye a different means. Meanning a dialup modem instead of high speed internet. But when I came back online I had to install some of windows xp. the upgrading I had received earlier this year was gone. Then I been getting alot of requests to down load all kinds of programs. I don't know which ones I should or not. Then for some programs that I have I can't cause I'm directed elsewhere to install more programs instead of the ones I have. I can't Even intall Internet Security From Kaspersky. And they were listed By microsoft of some one I could get . What do I do?

Hi Glenn_Winn, - Which are the programs/applications that you are asked to download?- What happens when you try to install the Internet Security application from Kaspersky?- Do you have any antivirus/security software application installed on your computer? If yes, scan your computer for any virus/malware infections or threats using the same.If you do not have any antivirus/security software application installed on your computer, why don't you try using Microsoft Security Essentials?I would suggest you not to download any of the programs which you do not trust as it may harm your system. If you want to Upgrade to Windows 7 Operating system, here are few links that might be of help to you:Microsoft StoreStep-by-step instructions to upgrade to Windows 7 from Windows XP is available at:Upgrading from Windows XP to Windows 7 Regards,Divya R – Microsoft Support.Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.
