Getting rid of fragmented ghost files
Some time back my computer had some problems and crashed, I was able to reinstall windows and get the computer up again. My hard drive is 150g and I am only use 30g of it, but when I view the drive it says over 100g is used. When I go into windows users it has my old user name there but I don't have access to it(access denied) and when I do properties on it, it says 0byts.I tried to defrag the drive and its show all the old files I had under the previous user name as fragmented files but it will not purge them and I can not gain access to them to delete them, any help would be greatly appreciated1 person needs an answerI do too

When you reinstalled xp it must have been done thru windows explorer, that usually doesnt work as you now see...To reinstall xp,one needs to boot to xp cd,select install, delete the partition, create one, then xp formats & installs auto. This is a "clean installation".
