Getting past a secret password.
I recently inherited a Gateway laptop using XP. I want to wipe it clean with a program I have so I can sell it. The problem is the previous owner has a password on it that I cannot get past. Any suggestion as to how I can get past this password? Thanks1 person needs an answerI do too

Start the computer in Safe mode and log into the built-in account named Administrator . You'll have to know the password, if any, for that account. Once in, go to Control Panel > User Accounts and remove the password from the owner's account. Here's a free program that can wipe the disk clean without having to log in. You could download it on another computer, create a bootable CD or DVD, and run it on the Gateway:CopyWipeBoulder Computer MavenMicrosoft Most Valuable Professional
