Getting back vanished folders
Hey ppl! I recently did a fresh install of windows 7 and found that 3 or 4 folders have vanished from ANOTHER partition. I have two HDD's and one has two partitions. Windows was installed on C: and the folders that vanished were on D: before I installed Windows. When I installed Win 7, it changed the D partition to E: and my other HDD to D: and then the folders vanished. They didnt have any folder permissions or "Hidden" or anything like that selected in the properties. Please help me. I really need the one folder back urgently. The others arent so important as i can re-download the content... Please help!

There is no capability in Windows 7 to recovery your vanished folders. You can search the internet for a third party utility that may recover the folders if you have not written to that hard drive at all. If you have written to that hard drive it probably is impossible to recover any vanished folders or files. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. The first thing that comes to mind is the change of attribute of "hidden" (Help: Show hidden files) 1. I use program Recuva http://www.piriform.com/recuva/download (Unless the traces are overwritten chances are, that you recover what you need.) 2. Also look into Sysinternals list of file&disk utilities if there is "something" than helps you (missing links etc) Regards Milos
