Getting Revised Updates, Security Updates and Hotfixes for windows 7.
How does one get notification to an already installed update, security update or hotfix has been revised so that it can be installed? Is it safe to uninstall them and reinstall the newest, revised version?

Which update you mentioned?
Sometimes, there will be irregularly security updates, have a look at this thread:

Don't worry about it.
If your situation is different, please tell us which update or hotfix has this problem. Before install the new update, please check the history if the older one was installed.
