Getting RDP to span two monitors full screen while leaving third alone
The original setup had an ATI Radeon HD 3xxx series PCI-E video card running two monitors (1 and 2). Connected to a 2008 server RDP session and had it span the two monitors in full screen. Everyone was happy until they heard that some other agencies
were running three monitors and then of course I get the call that they wanted to run three monitors. Systems are running Win 7 pro 32 bit.
I added a second Radeon card, turned off crossfire, added a smaller third monitor (3). I opened the RDP session that had always spanned monitors 1 and 2 fine but now the spanning is not going full screen over 1 and 2. It's giving you a maximized
window, but with scroll bars. Is there anyway to have three monitors with the following resolutions:
1. 1600x900
2. 1600x900
3. 1280x1024
run an RDP session in full screen but only over the first two monitors? I know that there is a max resolution for spanning that I don't know off the top of my head, 4000x2000ish I think. Is that what the problem is? anyway around this?
Thanks for any help,
John

Hi,
You can set the resolution individually for every monitor. Multiple monitors support is provided by Display Driver, you take a look in driver settings to check that.
Also, seems RDP cannot only use the first two Monitors. If you choose to let RDP use all the monitors, it will utilize all the monitors connected to box.

I used the catalyst software to group monitors 1 and 2 in a single span. then i extended the desktop to monitor three. now RDP spans 1 and 2 and I have an independent 3rd monitor for whatever i want.
