Get yellow triangle error when trying to connect network printer to Windows 7 Pro computer, but it will work on very same computer in another location.
I have this Brother Laser\Fax Printer set up as a network printer with a Static IP in it. I have the subnet mask, gateway, dns entries, etc. configured. I have 2 new computers that are exactly the same, and have Windows 7 Pro 64-bit on them. I've been able to connect one of the computers (that's in the same room as the printer), but not the other one that's down the hall. When I try to install the printer on the other computer, it lets me go in and set it up, just like the other computer, but when I sent a print test page to it, I look in the print queue, and it shows the print job there or it will say spooling, and then the print job will end with an error. I can ping the IP address on the other computer and the printer. The business where the computers are, are in an office building in which they manage and own. They have an Internet Provider that gives them out a range of static IP's. That's how everyone gets connected, by using one of these Static IP's. No one office has an actual Windows Server or any kind of LAN set up. Mainly all Peer-to-Peer, and do print and file sharing. Any ideas what could be causing this? What's this with homegroup's? Why does it have the spot for WORKGROUP still in MY COMPUTER Properties, but when you try to share a file it's only wanting to share with a homegroup. It's like the old Workgroup doesn't work anymore. Why do they even have it in there.

Hi, Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet Forum. What is the error message when you failed to print? For a test, please try to restart the spooling service to check how it works: 1. Open Administrative Tools by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type administrative tools, and then click Administrative Tools. 2. Double-click Services. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. 3. Right-click the Print Spooler service, and then click Properties. 4. On the General tab, next to Startup type, make sure that Automatic is selected. 5. If the service is not already running, under Service status, click Start, and then click OK. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. Hope it helps. Alex Zhao TechNet Subscriber Support in forum.
