Get Offline Files Back Working!
This is an important feature that I have relied upon for years since XP & Vista. Prior to the RC, I was able to configure and use offline files just fine in Windows 7 beta. Now, since the upgrade Offline Files no longer works as it should and it's all screwed up. And this is a clean install. So was my install of Windows 7 beta. In a previous post, a Microsoft MVP recommended that I install Windows Vista and then upgrade to Windows 7 in order to get my offline files functionality back. That doesn't sound right. Why would I need to install Vista in order to get a feature back working again? Anyway, I have tried everything in the book including group policy editor, making sure that share/permission settings were set ok on the server desktop PC (also running Windows 7, as I had setup using Win7 beta). This is my biggest problem with Win7 RC. Microsoft, PLEASE issue a patch/fix soon!

So, what was the answer? I've got a half dozen XP Pro to Win7 migrations by virtue of new equipment, and my laptop users now have no idea what is/isn't being backed up to their client devices when they leave the network. John
