Generic Host 32 Error.
For several months I keep getting this Generic Host Win32 error message when I start my Dell Lattitude 630D. It wipes out my sound device everytime. No device is found for sound. I've tried every suggestion on Microsoft concerning this error message. I have restored it several times and the problem is not fixed. I tried registry correction software and it didn't work. I have XP professional. Please help!

Hi,· What is the complete error message you receive?· Did you make any software or hardware changes on your machine prior to this issue?· What steps you have tried to fix the issue?· How do you get back the sound on your machine? You may configure the computer in clean boot and then check if the issue persists. It will start Windows XP by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs and helps to eliminate software conflicts. The following link has steps showing how to perform clean boot: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353Note: Please ensure that the computer is set to start as usual by following the section ‘Steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state’ from the article: How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" state: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353Hope the information helps. I am operating XP Service Pack 3, Home Edition. I received the Generic Host 32 error message numerous times upon startup. I end up losing my sound device. I downloaded (purchased) software from Uniblue which worked for a short period of time. Now the error message is back again, except it's messing with the internet connection. I don't know what else to do and I really don't want to pay for something if it isn't going to fix the problem completely. If someone has the answer, please help! Thanks in advance.
