General Windows Troubleshooting
Good Day Everyone, I have been in IT for about 18 years and just wanted to offer some general advice on troubleshooting computer / network issues. Sometimes we forget the simplest things and start barking up the wrong tree. I read something from Microsoft a few years back that I keep in mind while troubleshooting. It is called the DIP-CD method and goes like this: 1.) DEFINE the problem 2.) ISOLATE the cause 3.) PERFORM the repair 4.) CONFIRM the results 5.) DOCUMENT the solution To remember this, imagine dipping a CD into chocolate. If you would like more details about each step, I have a little website setup at: http://computertroubleshooting.weebly.com/ Thanks, MarioInDallas, MCSA
