Gateway returns to unset after every reboot.
Hi I am having a small "annoyance" I recently got the RTM version of W7 ( I installed the Ultimate version ) everything seems fine, but on every reboot my gateway just dissapears. ( well the one on my main internet connection ) I have tried going to the network adapter, I have set it manually, set the metric to 1 just in case ( also tried with automatic metric ) but the gateway still dissapears as If I have never written it in the first place. Any Ideas on how to fix this ? Hi, I know that the default gateway disappears after restarting, no matter the default gateway is assigned automatically or manually. I suggest you reset your router first and install the latest version of the network adapter driver for Windows 7. Please Note: The third-party product discussed here is manufactured by a company that is independent of Microsoft. We make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance or reliability. If it does not work, you may test the issue in Safe Mode with Networking and Clean Boot. If you have another network adapter, I also suggest you install the second network adapter to test the issue. If the issue persists, Would you please upload the System Information to SkyDrive and provide us the link for analyzing. How to collect the System Information ======================== 1. Click Start, type in msinfo32 (without quotation marks) in the Search bar and then press Enter. 2. Choose Save from the File menu and save it as an NFO file. 3. Find the file, right-click on this file, click "Send To", and click "Compressed (zipped) Folder". 4. Send the compressed file to me. Arthur Li - MSFT
