Games Servers are not showing up after connecting to PPPoE or PPTP connections
Hello, I have again installed windows 7 32 bit ultimate edition for the 8th time in a year but everytime when I use windows 7 after dailing to PPPoE or PPTP connections the lan servers of games which are playable on LAN such as Warcraft III, Counter Strike, Crysis, Farcry etc etc stops showing up. How ever they are working fine on my windows xp sp 2 and windows xp sp 3. There is really something wrong with windows 7 as i am not the only person to face these problems lots of other people are facing these problems too. And yes I cannot connect to local area server when I use PPPoE of PPTP to connect to Internet because the servers won't show up. In response to these questions i say that : - 1. Where is your local area server, is it on the same network with the Windows 7 computer? How do you connect to it? The local area servers are obviously on my lan and on the same network as on my windows 7 computer. As usually servers shows up in the lan field of the games I connect to them through it. 2. Can you ping to local area server when you connect to Internet server? If not, is there any error message? Yes i can ping the local area server even after connecting to PPPoE/PPTP services and there are no error messages. But my problem is that servers won't show up in the list unless i disconnect my PPPoE/PPTP connection or connect to the servers manually. ANY SUGGESSIONS?

These test are obviously not complete. Use network monitor to dig deeper and compare the good network traffic in W XP with failing one in W 7. If you feel like not analyzing network monitor logs, upload them to any public cloud repository and publish here the reference to uploaded file. Also add any error and warning that you see in event logs in the time frame of your test(s). Regards Milos

Hi, Turn off your Firewall and test it again. Also, if it has no avail, refer to suggestion by Milos.Juke Chou TechNet Community Support
