GPRESULT /scope computer /v on Vista gives an "ERROR access denied"
Hi folks, I've got a Windows Vista machine and a Windows XP machine in the same OU applying the same GPO and I'm using the same domain account to logon. The account is a local admin on both machines. XP - GPRESULT /SCOPE computer > Works fine Vista - GPRESULT /SCOPE computer /v > "ERROR ACCESS DENIED" Why does Vista not like showing me the RSOP for the computer part of the GPO's? Thanks.

I suggest you checking UAC settings, try to disable it and see if it works.Best RegardsDale

Vista - GPRESULT /R /SCOPE computer /v (Also make sure your command prompt is Run as Admin) running the cmd as an admin fixed the problem for me. Thanks Rob F for the reminder.

Vista - GPRESULT /R /SCOPE computer /v (Also make sure your command prompt is Run as Admin) I was having exactly the same "Error: Access Denied" problem with gpresult /r /scope computer in Windows 7 Enterprise. Even though I was already logged in with an account that was a member of the local Administrtors group, running the command prompt as administrator also solved it for me. (Right click on cmd and select "Run as Administrator").
