I use Virtual desktop to connect to work, I need to use the Function keys(F4) to log in to the application in the virtual desktop, when I click F4, it does not work, it used to work in my previous PC with windows 8 OS, I have 8.1 now.

Any help is appreciated.

Uninstall Keyboard, reboot. Does it help?

Some required information are needed for us to help you. From your description, do you mean remote desktop?

My understanding is that this is designed primarily for key combinations such as alt-tab

If that is the case, please try simple fix you can use the onscreen keyboard Start-->Run-->osk.exe
