Frustrated at various VPN connection attempts in Windows7
here is my situation, a laptop with both win7 and XP installed ,behind a router's NAT,no problem to succesfully connect to various VPN servers in WIN XP, but a serious problem failed to connect to the same VPN server which it could reach in XP. I have tried to enable IPSEC, IP HELPER,IKE,ROUTE AND REMOTE these services and make them automatic ,it seems not to be a right solution . I have also tried to config vpn encrytipion to "OPTIONAL " AND ALLOW CHAP1 CHAP 2,and still not word ,i almost tried various combination of configuration still not successful , STILL SEE THE MESSAGE PROCESS VERIFIY PASSWORD------USING WAN PPTP TO CONNECT-----USING WAN lT2P TO CONNECT......... take a look at NBTSTAT -AN results, the status of the VPN connection is not "ESTABLISHED :but it shows "SYNC" I was totally annoyed by this problem ,i even enable and create another USER account and swith to that user to log on WIN7 with everything default ...... the result is still not progressive , problem remains the same ERROR 807 800. need some MS engineers in here to share your expertise , thank you!!!!!!

Hi, First, please fully disable the anti-virus and firewall on the computer, I assume that this issue is caused by the firewall blocks the VPN packages so that this issue happens. Also, some routers can not let the VPN pass them, so I suggest to directly connect the Internet or put the computer in the DMZ zone for a test.
