Frustrated - What is Error 80070003 anyway?
When updating some Windows 7 files I started getting intermittent problems loosing the connection. I found that using the automated update does not work and MS cannot read my system and figure out what I did.....I have 8 drives missing among which are my Audio drivers, and drivers for my 4 core processor....and now when I run update automatically it cannot find anything AND issues a 80070003 error. Now when I use the on-board trouble shooting tools and they go on line it tells me the same thing....mostly it cannot read my computer and cannot tell I am missing the drivers. Where would I write to so a real live person can be contacted and I can give them a list of the drivers and they can send them too me? I could send the HiJack files and other information files if they would like to analyze this but the problem effectively separating me from MS from support or drivers has me stymied. Bob aka bbsquare

This error can happen if the SMTP pickup directory path in the Internet Information Server (IIS) Metabase might be incorrectly pointing to an invalid directory. he following steps demonstrate how to discard the properties of the SMTP service: 1. Open a command prompt window on the IIS server. 2. Find the directory that the Adsutil.vbs file is in and switch to that directory. 3. Type the following command at the prompt: ADSUTIL enum SMTPsvc/1 This will display all of the settings for the default SMTP Service. 4. Find the setting "PickupDirectory" The following steps demonstrate how to set up the "PickupDirectory" setting in the Metabase: 1. Find the correct SMTP pickup directory that either IIS SMTP service or Exchange IMS is using. 2. Type the following command at the prompt: ADSUTIL set SMTPsvc/1/PickupDirectory (Path to the Pickup directory from step 1) Select Enter. You should receive the following message: PickupDirectory : (STRING) "Path to the correct directory" The directory should now be set properly. You may also want to change the other directory locations for the SMTP service to point to the proper directory location.
