Front-End status always shows Retrieving

Hello,

I have enterprise pool with two Front-end servers FE-1 and FE-2. When i open lync contorl panel on FE-1 and go to topology, i see "Retrieving" on FE-2 and if i open topology on FE-2 server, then i see "Retrieving" on FE-1. There is no errors nor warnings in event log. Everything was ok for 7 months.

Replication agent is up and running. After restarting replication agent i see "Successfully connected to back-end using the connection string of..." so guess back-end is accessible. So it should be something else.

Clients are able to use all the services.

if you check in Control panel, Topology Properties of the each front end server, can you see all the services are running?

I can take a while for the control panel to update. The status retrieving is showing because the information is retreived from the CMS. Can you wait 5 min and see if the status is updated?

Hi,Arturas,

When you state "Everything was ok for 7 months"  do you mean it worked ever before but now it doesn't?

Are you using the same account to log in Lync control panel?

Did you change anything before this happpened?Such as update package, file share folder permission,or something else?

Also please run Get-CsManagementStoreReplicationStatus  cmdlet to check the CMS data replication status and try to run Invoke-csManagementStoreReplication  and  Enable-CsReplica to force the CMS replication to all FE servers.

Moreover, please check your event viewer to see if there are any error or warning message about Replica Replicator Agent service,if there are event ID 3032 please refer this blog post.

Regards,

Sharon

Yes it worked before, and i noticed it doesn't work few weeks ago.

Yes it is the same account.

As i remember i did not changed anything.

Everything was replicating before and everything is replicating after these commands.

There are no any error/warning messages.

I still see Retrieving.

I think i found solution. After running  "Enable-CsComputer -v" now it is showing status. I will test our deployment for a few days and if everything is fine i will mark this as answer.

Just had the same issue after applying July 2015 CU on 2 Test Lync 2013 Front End servers. Running "Enable-CsComputer -v" resolved it in 2 minutes.

Thank you.
