Hi fairyann, - Which is the Fix it tool that you are referring to?- Which are the programs that you are referring to?- What happens when the system freezes? Do you get any error message or error code? If yes, specify the same.- What's the recent change that you made to your computer after which this issue has started to occur? Method 1: If the issue occurs with some particular applications only, as a first step check if there are any latest updates for those programs from the manufacturer's site. Download the latest updates for the program from their respective Web sites. Method 2: Restart the computer by using a clean startup procedure and check if it helps in fixing the issue. Putting your system in clean boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue. If yes, you may have to contact the program manufacturer for any updates or uninstall and re-install the program. Here’s the article you may refer to for steps with reference to the same. Use this link if you are using Windows XP:How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" stateNote: After troubleshooting, make sure to put the computer to start as usual as mentioned here:To configure Windows to use a Normal startup stateAfter you used the clean boot to resolve your problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally. a. Click Start, and then click Run.b. Type msconfig, and then click OK. The System Configuration Utility dialog box is displayed.c. Click the General tab, click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services, and then click OK.d. When you are prompted, click Restart to restart the computer.Regards,Divya R – Microsoft Support.Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

Have a look in the System and Application logs in Event Viewer for Errors and Warnings and post copies here. Don't post any from than more than 48 hours ago. You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description are important. A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double click on the error you want to copy. You will see a button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event Viewer. This places a copy of the report into your Clipboard. Paste into the body your message. Make sure that this is the first paste after exiting from Event Viewer.Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell
