How to uninstall applications by using Windows Installer CleanUp Utility? Question : How to uninstall applications by using Windows Installer CleanUp Utility? Answer : The Windows Installer CleanUp Utility is released by Microsoft. It looks up for registry references and files which were installed by various programs, and forcibly wipes them out. It works in 32-bit and 64-bit version of Microsoft Windows 7. NOTE 1 : The utility will only change registry values and files associated with the Windows Installer portion on the program. It will not remove files from the computer. You may need to manually remove the files to free up disk space. NOTE 2 : The Windows Installer CleanUp Utility should not be used to remove the 2007 Microsoft Office System installation information. 1. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility can be downloaded by the following link directly: Windows Installer CleanUp Utility When you download the utility, choose either Install or Save (If you choose Save then run the downloaded executable from the folder in which you saved). By default, the setup program installs the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility files to a folder beneath the Program Files folder. This folder is called "Windows Installer CleanUp". And a shortcut is created on the Programs menu under the Start menu. NOTE 3 : If an error was encountered when trying to install Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, please try to install the package by using administrator privilege. 2. To run the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, use either of the following methods: Method I: Start from the Programs menu. Click the Start button , click All Programs , and then click the shortcut for the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility. Method II: Find and double-click to run the Msicuu.exe file. 3. A dialog box will be displayed that contains a list of installed products, and four buttons ([Select All], [Clear All], [Remove] and [Exit]). 4. Please choose the program which you want to remove, and then click the Remove button. All the Windows Installer information that is associated with the selected programs is removed. 5. To remove the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, use either of the following methods: Method I: Click the entry in the list of installed programs, and then click Remove in Programs and Features tool in Control Panel . Method II: Run the installation package again, and uninstall it by following the wizard.

The link for the Installer Cleanup Utility doesn't work - where can I find this? I'm having problems with installing an application on Windows 7 X64, MSI error 1335 (corrupt or missing cab file).Thys Brits - MCSD/MCSD.Net
