Formatting WD 300gb Hardrive
Ok here is what I have:I have windows xp pro serv pack 3 I installed an extra 300 gb Western Digital Hard drive and formated it. It only formatted 8gb of space instead of the whole 300. I know it can do it all it is formated as a Fat32 drive and don't know what to do now. It is a WD3000JB Hard drive blue caviar.Thank you for any insight in what I am doing wrong.Conaddor1 person needs an answerI do too

you may have to delete the partition, as it may actually be a 8 gb partition instead of 300. after you create a new partition, you should be able to format it appropriately. however, my suggestion is that 1) you format using the advance file system known as ntfs and not the old fat32 standard. and 2) create and format 3 equal partitions at approx. 100 each instead of having a single 300 gb partition. -- db`...><)))> ."Conaddor" wrote in message news:be012bb6-cd65-4934-ac3f-3885388ce289...Ok here is what I have:I have windows xp pro serv pack 3 I installed an extra 300 gb Western Digital Hard drive and formated it.
