Never herd of such a thing.  How do you even know you have the password right if you dont know the user.

Anyways, What user is this? The admin account? Your personal account?  FIMSync, FIMPortal??

If it is the admin account of FIM Portal, it will be the same account who has access to the FIMService Database.  So check the DB.

If it is the admin account of FIM Sync, it will be the same account who has access to the FIMSynchronizationService Database.  So check the DB.

Based on the question I'm guessing that this has nothing at all to do with
FIM/MIM but rather that the OP is using a Windows Client OS.
