Forcing mobile users to reauthenticate every 12 months
For audit purposes we would like to force our mobile/remote users, who use laptops out of the office to bring their devices every 12 months. We can ask nicely but may as well save our breath! Is there a way that we can force this by enabling something which requires them to reauthenticate against the domain controller every 12 months? Or a local policy which we can apply to do the same thing? All of our users use Windows 7 Professional, and our domain controller is Windows Server 2003. If this can be done it would save an enourmous amount of work, especially if it gave the user a warning about a month before their time was up, giving them enough time to get into the office before they are disconnected. Hope someone can help me!

Hi, Maybe you can make a script to delete Windows 7 credential in Credential Manager. Then create a task scheduler to run this script every 12 months. When the credential is clear in Windows 7, it will re-authenticate when you connect domain. For the script, you can contact Script Forum for help: The Official Scripting Guys Forum! Hi thats a good idea, something like that hadn't even crossed my mind but it may well be the easiest option. I will ask the question and post my options back here just in case anyone else is looking for the same thing. Thanks.
