Folders freezing up and freezing up comp.
I lost my hard drive last month and had to get a new one. I used to use C drive but now it's an F drive. Not sure if this is the reason.Anyway When I go to open up a folder like My pictures or My PSP etc it will only open so far then freeze up. I can't even use anything else so I then will have to restart everything using my task manager. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.I like to create using my Paint Shop Pro and since I can't get my folders in any order or get any plugins in my folders I'm at a loss. I am using windows xp.

You did the reinstall incorrectly. Sometimes you may have other hardware that acts as drive letters depending on what you type of computer you use. This hardware needs to be disconnected while you reinstall the software on the new drive, then after everything is correctly up and running, the hardware can be reconnected.

Hi Tammy_Lynn,We recommend you to check if you installed Windows XP correctly. To confirm, check the following article:How to install or upgrade to Windows XPIf you followed the steps correctly, then check if any non Microsoft program running on the computer is causing this issue. To do this, try these steps:a. See How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" stateb. Restart the computer and check if the issue persists. If the issue does not persist, then from the article, follow Method 1 and Method 2 to find out if any program is causing the issue.c. Once you've found the culprit i.e. the program that's causing the issue, then uninstall it or reinstall it once again to fix the issue.Note: From the article do not forget to follow "Steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state"Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.
