Folder Redirection Desktop.ini
I am having trouble with folder redirection. I have set up policy that redirects the user's Desktop and My Documents folders to their network drive, which works fine. However, whenever I try to look at the folders on the server, the folder name is replaced with either My Documents or Desktop because of the desktop.ini file. Is there a way to disable the automatic creation of the desktop.ini file? Thanks.

I know it's a little late for a response to your question. I don't know of a way to prevent the desktop.ini file from being created. I have also experienced this issue. The method I am using is to do a file search for the desktop.ini file on the home directory. Since the desktop.ini file isn't needed I locate all instances of the file at the root of the user's home directory and delete it. Once you refresh the list of folders; they correctly display the owner's name as it was originally intended. You could also use a script to automatically delete the file when created. Unfortunately this isn't a solution but rather a workaround. Hope this helps. A
