Folder Redirection
I have upgraded my domain to server 2008 and have 150 Win 7 clients mainly running on Acer laptops connected to the domain via a 3Com wirless network. We use folder redirection to remap My Docs to a server share named H: all machines have office 2003. A word document created on one machine appears in the h: drive from elsewhere on the network but has 0kb in its size field. Attempts to open the file produce Microsoft Office Word needs a converter to display th e file correctly. This feature is not currently installed..... Going to the sync center and syncing the users folder fixes the problem for the short term, for that user, but reoccures with the next user.Does anyone have a fix for this?

Hi, To make the issue clear, please capture some screenshots on where you noticed the word document and the message you received when you try to open the file for our further research: Capture a screenshot ============== 1) Press the Print Screen key (PrtScn) on your keyboard. 2) Click the "Start" menu, type "mspaint" in the Search Bar and Press Enter. 3) In the Paint program, click the "Edit" menu, click "Paste", click the "File" menu, and click "Save". 4) The "Save As" dialogue box will appear. Type a file name in the "File name:" box, for example: "screenshot". 5) Make sure "JPEG (*.JPG;*.JPEG;*.JPE;*.JFIF)" is selected in the "Save as type" box, click “Desktop” on the left pane and then click "Save". For your convenience, I have created a workspace for you. You can upload the screenshots via the following link. (Please choose "Send Files to Microsoft") https://sftasia.one.microsoft.com/choosetransfer.aspx?key=5a76a6b0-e2c9-48ba-a74a-5159ccfbfe13 Password is “MV0pa5rfySH” (without quotations). In addition, please check if all the clients encounter this issue and check the event log to see if there are any related erros. Thanks.Nicholas Li - MSFT
