Folder Access Denied, you need permission to perform this action when trying to save files to a mapped network drive
I have a Windows 7 PC connected to a Windows 2003 domain. When trying to copy file(s) to a mapped network drive on the server, I receive the error "Folder Access Denied". I have pretty much ruled out any sharing permission issue because if I login with the same user's account on any other Windows 7 PC in the office, I have no problems saving files to the exact same drive/folder. I even tried adding the user to the Administrators group and they still get the error message. No one else in the office is having this problem, so it looks like there is some setting wrong on that particular PC. Any help would be appreciated.

A little more info, I logged in as the domain Administrator on that PC and got the same error. Users on this one particular PC can open files on the server, delete files, but just can't copy or create new ones. Anyone have any ideas? I have spent hours googling this and haven't found anything that describes this exact problem. Most of the solutions people recommend have to do with permissions and ownership of the folders on the file server but I have confirmed that there are no issues regarding permissions or ownership. I'm sure it's probably something as simple as a registry key or local security policy setting. Please help!

Did you try to acess the folder using net use? Try that.. http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/net_use.mspx?mfr=true

The folder is already mapped using net use. I even tried disconnecting and remapping after reading your post and still have the same issue.

It sounds like a trust issue between the machine and the domain. Try removing the Windows 7 PC from the domain, wait a few minutes for the removal to replicate across your DCs, then rejoin it.

I actually tried something like that already. I removed the PC from the domain and renamed the PC and then joined the domain again, and it didn't help.

Hi, Based on the current situation, please perform a Clean Boot on both sides. If the issue persists, I suggest logon another computer with the same use account and then access the folder. If the issue persists, the issue should be related to incorrect folder permission.
